Proper english riding apparel?

I am a western rider, but I have ridden english before. However I dont know much about it. I have an interview at a stable tomorrow with a lady who needs someone to ride her jumpers to exercise them. She said wear "riding clothes" because I would be riding so she could see me ride. Just exercise clothes I guess. For a western rider like me that means jeans and a sweater…..what does that mean for english? I hope not those stretchy spandex pants…..egh.

By wearing those "stretchy" pants (britches) she can see your leg position clearly, this may be important to her. A vest or tight top will allow her to see your upper body position, and be able to judge whether or not you can ride her horses the way she wants them to be ridden.

I think that riding in jeans and a sweater will tell her you dont care, and she wont be able to judge your riding.
